P-108: Efficacy of Intrauterine Injection of Granulocyte Colony Stimulating Factor on Treatment of Unexplained Recurrent Miscarriage
Authors
Abstract:
Background Effects of GCSF (Granulocyte Colony-stimulating Factor) injection in patients suffering from recurrent pregnancy loss has been studied in some studies and we now know that transvaginal perfusion of G-CSF might be helpful for improvement of implantation rate among patients with thin endometrium and patients under in vitro fertilization /embryo transfer (IVF/ET) or intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI)/ ET. The aim of present study was to evaluate the impact of intrauterine injection of G-CSF in patients that suffering from unexplained recurrent miscarriage.9 MaterialsAndMethods In present randomized clinical trial a total of 67 patients were randomly allocated into two study groups including intrauterine G-CSF (300 g) injection and control group (no G-CSF injection). All patients were in ovulation induction (OI) cycle. In G-CSF group, intrauterine injection of G-CSF were done twice in cycle. All enrolled patients were under 40 years old and had at least two times unexplained abortion. Pregnancy was evaluated by titer of hCG in institutes lab, presence of gestational sac (implantation) was assessed by vaginal sonography and finally clinical pregnancy was confirmed by detection of fetal heart rate (FHR). Results A total of 17 patients were excluded from the final analysis due to different reasons. No significant difference were observed between two study groups when we compared the rate of pregnancy (P=1.000), implantation (P=0.491), clinical pregnancy (P=0.414) and abortion (P=0.414). Conclusion s:450:"In contrast to possible effect of G-CSF on improvement of implantation rate that revealed by some other studies, based on the result of present study we couldnt suggest intrauterine injection of G-CSF for improvement of clinical pregnancy rate and reduce of abortion among patients with unexplained recurrent miscarriage. Further molecular biology studies are needed to clarify the mechanism in which G-CSF affects the pregnancy process. ,"";

Efficacy of Intrauterine Injection of Granulocyte Colony Stimulating Factor (G-CSF) on Treatment of Unexplained Recurrent Miscarriage: A Pilot RCT Study
Background Endometrium undergoes several changes in structure and cellular composition during pregnancy. Granulocyte Colony-stimulating Factor (GCS-F) is an important cytokine with critical role in embryo implantation and pregnancy. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the impact of intrauterine injection of G-CSF in patients who suffer from unexplained recurrent miscarriage (RM). Met...
full textUse of granulocyte colony-stimulating factor for the treatment of unexplained recurrent miscarriage: a randomised controlled trial.
BACKGROUND Recurrent miscarriage (RM) is defined as the occurrence of three or more clinically detectable pregnancy losses in the first trimester. In most cases of RM, its aetiology remains unexplained. Granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF), a cytokine, and its receptor are expressed in placental tissue. To investigate the effectiveness of G-CSF in preventing embryo demise, we administe...
full textP 112: Combining Granulocyte-Colony Stimulating Factor (G-CSF) and Stem Cells in Treatment of Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)
Traumatic brain injury (TBI) is described as a situation in which the brain is damaged by an external force. It is considered to be a chief problem in health care. Pharmacotherapy and stem cell therapy are the main treatments used in TBI. The purpose of these procedures is to control the inflammation in injured regions of brain. Currently, there is no effective care for TBI that could regenerat...

In the background section of their abstract, Woei-Cherng Shyu and associates state that because granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF) has anti-inflammatory and neuroprotective properties and the capacity to mobilize stem cells, it has the potential to be used in treatment of stroke. However, there are limited data about the effects of G-CSF on hemostasis. It has been suggested that G-CS...

Granulocyte colony-stimulating factor was discovered during attempts to define the normal regulators present in cell supernatants that could induce terminal differentiation of the murine myeloid leukemic cell line WEHI-3B D+. The purification and subsequent cloning of both murine and human G-CSF allowed the normal functions of this molecule to be elucidated and indicated that it was a relativel...
full textDoes Subcutaneous Administration of Granulocyte Colony Stimulating Factor Improve Pregnancy Outcome in Patients Undergoing Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection?
Background:Expression of granulocyte colony stimulating factor (G-CSF) and its receptors in embryo and endometrium implicates the involvement of this glycoprotein on implantation process. In the present study, we aimed to evaluate the impact of routine use of subcutaneous administration of G-CSF on pregnancy outcomes in intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) patients. <strong...
